This Month sees the launch of our new music project NEXT STEP.

We've decided to name the project after one of Swansea's most famous punk bands. Who in their day provided much inspiration to me and others to go out and do something different.

The aim of the project is to engage local bands and solo musicians, giving them access to a top quality 24 track studio for free!!! we want to give local musicians a taste of what it would be like to work in an industry standard studio. It's part of our strrategy to drive forward the creative industry in Swansea - so it does become an industry. Our musicians will aim to produce three quality demo tracks.

We are working in partnership with Communities First Castle Ward and the new Abertawe Rd Studio managed and owned by Perry Anderson. Our project has been funded by the Communities First Trust Fund administered by the Wales Council for Voluntary Action. Many thanks to you guys!

This is essentially stage one of a two stage project - the next stage focuses on getting the bands noticed and signed up to a label. Watch this space!
